http://groups.yahoo.com/group/doghealth2/ "Doghealth2 contains
an exchange of information pertaining to dog health (both in pure breed and
mixed breed canines of all ages), primarily regarding the use of drugs that can
or have caused illness and/or death in dogs. The focus is presently on the drug
Rimadyl (carprofen). However, all issues regarding dogs' health can be addressed
at this site. Do you have a dog a dog with arthritis, orthopedic problems? Your
Veterinarian may not be aware of the potential serious adverse side effects of
Rimadyl. Many Veterinary clinics prescribe it for postoperative pain, etc. There
may be safer alternatives."
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SeniorRawFeeding/ "SeniorRawFeeding is a list
that is dedicated to the discussion of feeding a raw diet to your senior dog
where "senior" can be defined according to what you feel is geriatric for your
particular breed. The focus of this group is to discuss specific raw
feeding issues in the senior dog including, but not limited to, changing your
senior over to a raw diet, feeding for longevity and the prevention of disease,
feeding for kidney disease, feeding for liver disease, feeding for arthritis or
feeding for any other issues that specifically involve our senior dogs.
While all topics relating to senior dogs are welcome, the only pre-requisite of
this group is that you are either feeding your dog a raw diet or you are
interested in changing over to a raw feeding programme. This is not a group that
is designed to discuss the pros and cons of raw feeding."

RAW FOOD/COOKED FOOD DIETS
For Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians
Only:
There is a list for
veterinarians and veterinary technicians which deals with the subject of raw
food diets. There is an increasing awareness in the veterinary community that
information provided about dog nutrition generally is full of misinformation.
Part of the role of this list is to expose those myths. Importantly, this list
is about educating and reeducating the veterinarian peer group about
appropriate raw diets for dogs and cats. To join the list, please send an email
to: rawvet-owner@yahoogroups.com,
detailing your reasons for wanting to join the list, your profession, your
clinic location, and vet association registration number (or the like).
NOTE: This list is NOT for the "pet owner" seeking vet advice or a well
educated vet in their local area. Please do not try to join, as you will
be screened out.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rawdiet The original raw-feeding e-mail
list (started Sept 27, 1998). Rawdiet is for anyone who feeds their animals a
raw-food diet (such as BARF, Billinghurst, Volhard, Pitcairn, Levy, etc) or
people interested in learning about feeding this way. Focused mainly on dogs,
but cats as well as any other animal (furred, feathered, scaled or finned) are
welcome.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RawDogCanada (Recognizing Animal Wellness) Dog
Canada - is for dog owners who would like to learn or share information about
feeding raw diets. Other health related topics such as herbs, homeopathy,
vaccines or alternative modalities may also be included in discussions as we
recognize they sometimes times go hand in hand with wholesome, fresh food
nutrition. List members are primarily Canadian, but we always welcome our raw
feeding friends from around the world.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BARF-lite This list is for those
interested in getting their dog started on the Raw/BARF diet or are already on
it. We have a much more relaxed atmosphere here. You won't get chastised for
feeding commercial food (well, maybe if it's a really dreadful one like Ol'
Roy), cooking for your dog, or grinding RMBs. We know there is no "only one
right way" of feeding.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/k9health An international group of
animal health care professionals, dog and cat lovers who are interested in
discovering the best ways of improving the health of their pets. Canine Health
Concern has promoted raw feeding and the truth about vaccines since 1994. Its
founder, Catherine O'Driscoll, is author of the best-selling book, 'What Vets
Don't Tell You About Vaccines'. Through CHC she has promoted complementary
healthcare for dogs over the last ten years. This list is no longer a discussion
group but you may search the archives for health-related topics. To join Canine
Health Concern's discussion group, sign in to this one and we'll direct you to
us.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/naturallypet For people who are
interested feeding raw food diet, such as BARF to their pets. The discussions on
this list include diets, alternative medicines and more.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalBerners NaturalBerners is an
e-group dedicated to the discussion of natural rearing (raw diets or bones and
raw food-type diets). This list is for those berner owners who already feed raw
and to those who are interested in learning about raw feeding.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Commercial_Dog_Food_Comparison This list is
designed for people who would like to learn more about available commercial dog
foods (kibble, canned, granulated, frozen, dehydrated, etc.), compare commercial
dog foods, or just share experiences with using them. Everyone is welcome to
join no matter what kind of food you feed your dog, but this list will mainly be
a forum to compare the commercial dog foods. Acceptable topics, though, would
include kibble comparison, supplements, recipe ideas for treats, dog nutrition
in general, and more.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RawChat This list is an extension of the Raw
Feeding email list, where more lengthy and off topic discussion can happen, in
particular to issues like vaccination, training, worming, etc. This group has
the same moderator team as the foundation raw feeding list, with extensive
experience from both show dog people and companion dog owners. We have a relaxed
atmosphere, and as before, discourage spammers, advertisers (including those
selling any type of dog food), and trolls.
